Returning home after a year away traveling, I felt compelled to honour my Yorkshire roots through illustration.
Halifax is a rugged town In West Yorkshire, England. It is best known for the bank of the same name, confectionery kings Mackintosh, plus a pretty bracing night out!
The illustration features numerous facets of the town - including the infamous 'Gibbet' as the letter 'H' (reputed to be the worlds first Guillotine), Wainhouse Tower as the letter 'I'
and the Halifax Bank logo as the letter 'X'. The illustration also works as a map, with all the place names featured in their correct geographic positions.
